A person who is addicted chooses to be an alcoholic beacuse of circumstances or also sometimes for adventure.

Though,initially he may think that he can control himself, many a times it so happens that he wont be concious enough to be aware that he has into the trap of addiction.In this state of uncociousness he cannot even accept that he is addicted.
